Search Terms

All 25,365 items in this collection will be displayed together when you enter the online database without any search criteria. You can use the five sections on the side bar to filter the collection: folder name, creator, folder type, date and item category. Every data entry in each section is clickable, and will show results related to the data/ term. To exit the search, simply hit the cross icon on the search term, and you can see all of the item records again.

Item record

In each item record, you can find “object description” that contains item-level metadata and folder contents, and “item description” which actually includes page-level metadata, such as image identifier, source format, date, size, and image view.

You can navigate the search results by clicking the arrows on the top right corner of the item record page. Hit “back to results” to go back to the list of results. To print an item record, hit the print icon below “back to results”.

Every page of the item is digitized. You can enlarge the image from clicking the top right corner on the preview, and download the image as .jpeg when you right-click. Please note that these images are viewing quality and only for research purposes, if you have publishing needs or other requests, contact us via mail@franklinfurnace.org.
