On Dec 7th from 2:00-4:00 pm at Parsons School of Design Raul Zamudio, FF Alumn, will be on a panel titled “Arts in Sync”, with Eleanor Heartney and others.
He’ll also be in San Jose, Costa Rica at the National Gallery of Contemporary Art from Nov. 24-29, as part of the curatorial jury for the exhibition “Primera Confrontacion en el Arte”

2. SKART, FF Alumns, win first prize for work done at Franklin Furnace in 2000.
For the “SURVIVAL COUPONS” actions in Belgrade 1997-2000 and in New York 2000 (in collaboration/production with Franklin Furnace), SKART group (Belgrade, Yugoslavia) won the first award in international competition Evolutionare Zellen (Evolutionary Cells) organised by Neue Gessellschaft fur bildene Kunst – Berlin. From the 312 works from all the world, SKART is shering a first award together with Branderburgishe Fluchtlingsinitiative (Branderburg) for “Freedom of Movement”, Gudrun F.Widlok (Berlin) for “Adopted” and Matthew Coolidge (USA) for “Center for Landuse Interpretation”. Exhibition of the works which are presenting a new forms of communication and open critical toughts is opened in NGBK Museum in Berlin.

3. Doug Skinner, FF Alumn, publishes translation of Alchemical Dream Vision.
Doug Skinner’s translation of Giovanni Battista Nazari’s Three Dreams On Metallic Transmutation is now available from the Magnum Opus Hermetic Sourceworks in Glasgow, Scotland. Nazari’s work, originally published in Brescia in 1599, recounts an extravagant initiatory journey in a sequence of three dreams. It takes its narrator/protagonist through allegorical landscapes and encounters with nymphs, monsters, madmen, and scholars in his search for the physical and spiritual secrets of alchemy. Along the way, Nazari interlards verses, classical references, digressions on botany and geography, and an important alchemical bibliography. The book has long been considered a hermetic classic in Italy, and its illustrations have been widely reprinted, but it has never before been translated into English. This edition is #27 in the Magnum Opus Hermetic Sourceworks, limited to 300 copies, hand-bound and signed by editor/publisher Adam McLean. Susana Cook
Born in Argentina, Susana Cook is a New York based performance artist who has been writing and producing original work for over 14 years. Her work takes on interwoven themes of segregation, based on class, race, nationalism and homophobia with an ensemble involving mainly women and transgender people of color. She performed and taught workshops at Columbia University, Oberlin College, Yale University, in San Juan Puerto Rico, and at The Bronx Museum of The Arts. Her most recent productions are Hamletango, prince of Butches, The Fraud, Gross National Product, Conga Guerrilla Forest, Hot Tamale, Rats…the fantasy of extermination, and Butch Fashion Show in the Femme Auto Body Shop.
