1. Alexander Del Re, FF Alumn, at Currency 2002, an International Festival of Contemporary Performance, New York, October 3-5, 2002, 8pm chashama, 135 W 42 St. in Manhattan.
Artists from Europe, Asia, Africa and all three Americas, many performing in New York for the first time, will participate in this historic event.
See the latest in performance art from Thailand, Chile, Japan, Belarus and more, plus some homegrown American performance artists too!
The festival will also feature Currency Exchange, a gallery exhibition with contributions by prominent performance artists from around the globe.There will be a different program each night; performances begin at 8 PM.

Seventeen voices directed by Margaret Smith, Vagina Dialogues ~ A Queer Review ~ defines lesbian sexuality in a way that extends the continuum and locates sexuality in one¹s own sensory language of the body. The relational aspect of a chorus of voices, in which women intimately address each other, authenticates and relaxes the private secret content, makes real what is shared, and begins to complete the liberated body’s landscape. An array of diverse voices builds a powerful result and a language in common.
Organized in 1994 as a collective of theatre artists, HAG Theatre focuses on presenting the lesbian voice/story on stage. Works are chosen based on collective talents and available resources. HAG Theatre creates new works and presents contemporary playwrights such as Emma Donoghue, Alexis De Veaux, Carolyn Gage, Sarah Dreher, Claire Chaffee, Sandra Freeman, and Linda Eisenstein. The company was founded to make visible lesbians and women, and to provide theatrical production opportunities for lesbian writers.
