Andre Stitt, FF Alumn, Small Time Life Book Launch: Feb. 22, London, England.

Chapter is pleased to play host to the launch of Andre Stitt's new book, published by Black Dog Publishing, London and Locus+, Newcastle.

If you take care of this moment, you take care of all time. Andre Stitt

André Stitt¹s work as a performance artist draws on a wide number of references, ranging from urban alienation to alternative religions to political upheaval. His shamanistic akshuns have been, over the last twenty years, invariably violent and cathartic, located within a complex world of low-art kitsch iconography.

Starting with his first performances about the troubles whilst at art school in Belfast in the seventies and his work with Tara Babel, through to his television appearances in the late-eighties and his most recent work to date, this publication charts Stitt¹s career using images from the artist¹s own archive as well as specially commissioned documentation. Stitt provides the context to his work from the last two decades with texts that link the various projects with his personal life, creating an invaluable document of an extreme and flamboyant career.
