"Timur the Lame" a new work with performing objects and yakshagana folk-theatre by Theodora Skipitares. "Timur" is an environmental spectacle featuring several styles of puppetry which begins by looking at the sacred origins of theater in the East, continues with a panoramic shadow play on the life of the conqueror Tamburlaine, and concludes with a meditation on war as revealed in the Bhagavad Gita. With original music by David First, and a guest appearance by Sanjeeva Suvarna, one of India's most renowned traditional dancers.
