AH! THE HOPEFUL PAGEANTRY OF BREAD AND PUPPET (2002, 80 minutes)
The Bread and Puppet Theater has been a source of hope and vision for people all over the world. Looking at the archive of the theater's productions is like revisiting the events of the last 40 years, recreated in paper maché and paint. A work-in-progress screening of an epic new documentary, with filmmakers present.

Peter Sellars presents a rare screening of his only feature-length film: THE CABINET OF DR. RAMIREZ (1990, 111 minutes) Starring Peter Gallagher, Joan Cusack, Ron Vawter, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Kate Valk, and featuring Werner Klemperer, Michael Kirby, Anna Kohler, Ruth Malaczech, Mark Morris, Lola Pashalinski, Mike Stumm, Peyton Smith, and Jeff Webster. Stage director Peter Sellars collaborated with a host of downtown theater luminaries to create his contemporary remake of "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari." Featuring a score by composer John Adams and produced by David Lynch, this "silent" feature was never released theatrically. First public screening in New York. (Note: Tickets distributed free for this film on a first-some first-served basis. Contributions accepted at the door.)

Noon Kirk Winslow's rare 8mm version of Richard Foreman's Rhoda in Potatoland (1975, 18 minutes) With David Patrick Kelly's Brain/Paradise (about Foreman), intimate glimpses by one of the Ontological-Hysteric Theater's leading actors. (12 minutes)

1 pm Meredith Monk's Ellis Island (28 minutes.)

2 pm FREE FALL by Gea Kaltheneger & Douglas Ferguson (1993, 75 minutes.) An extraordinary backstage documentary of the making of Ron Vawter's Roy Cohn/Jack Smith, filmed in Europe during the summer prior to his death. FREE FALL makes clear why Vawter, a founding member of The Wooster Group, proved one of the most admired and influential actors of his generation.

3:30 pm Reza Abdoh's feature-length film, THE BLIND OWL
