ARTIST BIOS :
Anne Bassen - " The Passage of Urban Thyme" Anne Bassen returns to performing after a hiatus. Ms. Bassen came to NYC in 1994 from Washington DC where she performed and choreographed for many years. Upon moving to the East Village, her focus shifted to creating environmental, public and community performances. She has been the recipient of numerous grants and awards for her work from the National Endowment for the Arts, The Puffin Foundation and others and is currently studying and practicing Gestalt Psychotherapy.
Mary Gaitskill is the author of a previous collection of stories, Bad Behavior, the novel Two Girls, Fat and Thin, and numerous other stories and articles. Her newest published collection is Because They Wanted To.
Psycick Slutz - "The Once and Future Whore" ,a ritual performance to heal the split of sex and spirit, in which we honor and embody sacred whores throughout time. We're radical queer genderfucky cabaret style sex positive musical theatre tuffgrrls. Our performance incorporates theatre, ritual, kink, martial arts, movement, spoken word, a capella singing with percussion, humor, improv, and some audience participation.
Peter Cramer & Jack Waters- Cramer and Waters were a catalytic force behind POOL, a dance/performance collective and Co-Directors of ABC No Rio in the early 80's. Their 20 year collaboration includes installations Pride 2001/We Remember at the Donnell Media Center/NYPL and Short Memory /No History: A Case of Cultural Amnesia at the Shedhalle in Zurich, performances of Black & White Study at Danspace Project and film/video works including The Male GaYze ,The Flower Market and Patty Rocks the Block. Currently Peter is director of the 2002 events series of Le Petit Versailles, a community GreenThumb garden in NYC and Jack 's film Berlin/New York will be broadcast in November 2002 on the Sundance Channel.
