Performance artist Ann Carlson's month-long residency with community partners culminates in a series of outdoor performance installations entitled Night Light. Archival photographs of the Yerba Buena Gardens neighborhood will be re-staged at the site where they were taken, to create a living tableaux-allowing viewers to experience key moments in the history of this vital San Francisco district. Carlson has staged similar site-specific pieces drawing on local history in New York, Chicago and at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Lee, Massachusetts.

Night Light is made possible in part by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Association of Performing Arts Presenters Arts Partners Program, which is underwritten by the Wallace-Reader's Digest Funds and Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
